Summary of this Tutorial:
You can either go to Settings, General and allow anyone to register and set the new user role as Contributor.
Next add the Meta widget to the sidebar to let users know they can register to your site.
A second option would be to install and activate the User Submitted Posts plugin.
Go to Settings, User Submitted posts to configure the plugin.
You can choose the default author that the submitted content goes to, we recommend having a guest user profile.
The number of images can be limited as well as the size of the image.
Be sure to create a page where the form will be displayed and add the shortcode for the page.
Lastly using Gravity Forms you can have a user submitted area.
After installing and activating Gravity Forms go to Forms, New Form to create a new form.
Here you can add a title, post body and category. you can also decide the default author and post status.
With the form created go to the page and click Add Form and choose the recently created form.
