How to Add Sitemap to Robots.txt and Have Your Site Indexed by Search Engines

It is now easier than ever to have your site completely indexed by all the major search engines. It appears that the search engines have agreed that they will look for your sitemap in the robots.txt file in your website root directory.

Add your sitemap to your robots.txt file now to enhance your SEO!

How to add sitemap to robots.txt:

1. Use your file manager or ftp to locate the root directory of your website, that's the same directory where your index.html resides.
2. Check for your robots.txt, open it for editing in a text editor. If robots.txt does not exist, create it with a text editor and upload to your root directory
3. Edit the file robots.txt to include this line:

Sitemap: http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml

Replace example.com with your own site name. Save the file and you're done!
